Terms.

The rules of the road. We've tried to write them in plain language instead of lawyer-speak. By using Sudorix, you're agreeing to what's on this page.

What this is

Sudorix is a platform for setting, testing, solving, and competing on variant sudoku puzzles. You can use it free; some features may require payment in the future, and those will be clearly marked before you pay for anything.

We treat your data the way the privacy policy says we will. That's a real commitment, not boilerplate.

Your account

One account per person. Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so don't share credentials.

If your account gets compromised, tell us — we'll help you secure it.

Picking a username

Your username shows up on the puzzles you set and the puzzles you solve. Pick something you're happy to be associated with publicly.

Don't impersonate other people, real or fictional, in ways designed to confuse. Don't use slurs or content that targets people. We can reclaim a username in a genuine dispute (e.g. someone is impersonating a real setter) and we'll do so on request.

Setting puzzles

If you wrote it, you own it. You keep ownership of the puzzles you set. By publishing on Sudorix you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, host, and distribute the puzzle inside the platform. That license ends if you delete the puzzle.

If you imported it, attribution matters. When you paste a Penpa or SudokuPad URL, we preserve the original author and metadata. If you import someone else's puzzle, you're confirming you have the right to share it, or that the puzzle was already public and credited to its real author.

Takedowns. If you're the author of an imported puzzle and you'd rather it not be on Sudorix, contact us and we'll remove it.

Solving puzzles

Your solving progress, attempts, and times are yours. We use aggregated solve data (counts, average times) to power things like difficulty ratings — but individual progress on a given puzzle is private to you.

Don't use scrapers, bots, or automated solvers to inflate your numbers or distort ratings. Solve manually, like everyone else.

Acceptable use

  • No harassment, threats, or targeted abuse.
  • No spam, ads, or self-promotion outside relevant contexts.
  • No attempts to break, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform.
  • No content that's illegal where you are, or that would be illegal for us to host.
  • No impersonating Sudorix staff or other users.

We'd rather not police speech, but we will remove content and suspend accounts when these get crossed. Edge cases get human judgment, not automated triggers.

Suspension and termination

When we'd suspend you: repeated or serious breaches of acceptable use; suspected account compromise; legal obligation; or if you're putting other users at risk.

When you can leave: anytime. The privacy policy explains how account deletion works today (email request) and notes that a self-serve button is on the roadmap.

If we suspend you, we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, reply and we'll look again.

What you should know

Sudorix is provided as-is. We try hard to keep it working, accurate, and fast, but we can't promise zero downtime, zero bugs, or that every imported puzzle will render perfectly forever.

We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost time, lost solving streaks, missed competitions — beyond what applicable law requires. If something we do directly causes you harm, the most we'd be on the hook for is what you've paid us in the past twelve months.

None of this overrides rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.

Payments

If we add paid features, the specific terms (price, billing cadence, refund policy) will appear at the point of purchase and be linked from this page. We won't quietly turn free things into paid things without telling you.

Changes to these terms

We'll update this page when our practices change. Material changes land in your in-app Sudorix inbox so you can read them on your own time. Trivial fixes (typos, clearer wording) we may make silently.

Continuing to use Sudorix after a change means you're okay with the new version. If you're not, you can leave.

Questions or disputes

Reach out at [contact email — TBD]. A real person reads it. We'd rather sort things out by talking than by lawyers.
